Assessment Corp were engaged by Clarence Valley Council under the government’s Roads and Infrastructure relief package following damage caused by recent natural disasters.
The project involved soil classifications, acid sulfate soils assessments, unexpected finds assessments, and environmental consulting services. These assessments were required under government and EPA regulations to classify soils prior to removal from site for either disposal or reuse, while also addressing the elevated risk of acid sulfate soils within the region.
Our team undertook detailed sampling and reporting prior to any soils being relocated. This included:
- Reviewing environmental settings such as topography, geology, soil landscapes, and hydrogeology.
- Developing Asbestos In Soil Management Plans and Acid Sulfate Soil Management Plans (ASSMP) to ensure safe and compliant handling.
Through comprehensive investigations and practical recommendations, we supported Clarence Valley Council in effectively managing environmental risk and maintaining full regulatory compliance.
Services provided:
- Review of environmental settings (topography, geology, soil landscapes, hydrogeology, and potential acid sulfate soils).
- Sampling of stockpile and in situ soils.
- Detailed reporting, including conclusions and recommendations.
- Preparation of Asbestos Management Plans and Acid Sulfate Soil Management Plans (ASSMP), as required.
